Level 4 Soil Survey

A level 4 soil survey is performed to determine the suitability of soil for an on-site septic system and/or determine the approximate depth of rock or water tables. This study level may be required by Environmental Health if a level 3 study is inconclusive or yields unusable soils.

Service includes site visit where our team will use a hand auger to bore 4 or more holes ± 72” deep and/or use of an excavator to extend beyond the 72” depth.  The soil retrieved is evaluated by a soil scientist, classified to determine absorption rates, and the absorption rates determine the suitability of the soil, which will be detailed in a report of our findings.
